hard clear plastic casing, inside red leatherette case.  Please see photos for condition.  Red Leatherette box has been sitting inside a cardboard box in a safe deposit box since their purchase.  The set belongs to my 95-year old aunt who is downsizing and moving into an assisted living facility.  The set looks like new.
